Augie used to reside in Gold Heart Golden Retriever Rescue. However, she was adopted and unfortunately returned twice, which was beyond her control. Nevertheless, when she turned 14, Jennifer and Steve Hetterscheidt stepped in from Oakland, Tennessee, and finally gave her the forever home she deserved. Fortunately, Augie is fit as a fiddle and enjoys going on RV trips and playing fetch outdoors. She may take a bit longer to rise in the morning, but she still walks well.
Augie is a lively and cheerful pup even at the age of 20, which is beyond her family’s expectations. Her family is grateful to have her in their lives. In addition to Augie, the family has three Golden Retriever siblings named Sherman, Belle, and Bruce, whom they adore looking after. Recently, they celebrated Augie’s birthday by organizing a fantastic party that was ideal for any dog. They decorated the place adorably and served Augie with a cake that was safe for dogs to eat.
According to Jennifer, they made it a point to take Augie for regular check-ups with the vet to address any health issues. This is believed to have played a crucial role in extending Augie’s lifespan. Jennifer considers herself fortunate to have given Augie a permanent home. Since we have limited time with our beloved pets, it is imperative that we prioritize their health and make the most of our time together.
