Upon her arrival at the Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue, Rosie, a mix of Golden Retriever, was heavily pregnant and had been left there unceremoniously. The kind shelter heads, Katie and John Black, promptly took care of her needs as an abandoned and homeless dog.
Previously, the staff had dealt with their fair share of pregnant dogs, but when Rosie gave birth, it became apparent that this was going to be a unique case. Despite her gold-colored fur, Rosie’s four healthy puppies looked nothing like her. Instead, they were a spotted bunch with black and brown marks on their white coats, resembling tiny baby cows. As such, they were aptly named Daisy, Clarabelle, Betsy, and Moo. While cross-breeding often results in differences in features, the complete lack of similarity in Rosie’s litter was truly remarkable. Nevertheless, Rosie’s love for her adorable pups remained unshaken.
At present, all of Rosie’s little ones have found their forever homes and are being showered with love and affection.
We express our gratitude to Katie and John for their genuine dedication in taking care of the litter and ensuring that they are placed in the most suitable homes!
